Our Roots

Hi guys, welcome to Sprinkled with Aloha!  I create custom decorated cookie art to let people know they’re loved by celebrating what makes them unique!  I hope my cookie art and page can be a safe space for you to decompress and feel like you are at home.

A little bit about myself.  My name is Reana Mulcahy. I am originally from Kapolei, HI but my journey in life has brought me to Omaha, NE where I attended Creighton University and received my Undergraduate in Exercise Science and my Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  I know what you might be thinking… how the heck did I end up making a cookie business?  Well I think life has a funny way of pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves so that we can each make the world a brighter place.

Sprinkled with Aloha was created in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic of all times!  I started this business for a lot of reasons, but mainly because I was searching for purpose in life.  I will admit I was burnt out from the corporate system of healthcare.  I was lost and I felt like I lost my sense of purpose and meaning to life.

Baking for me has always been my comfort hobby. It transports me back to HI where some of my fondest childhood memories were spending time at my grandparents house with my grandfather, Glenn Nakamori, was a baker. My grandpa always had some kind of baking lesson set up and allowed us to use our hands and get messy (what kid doesn’t like that!?).  I also grew up always baking with my mom.  We would spend hours in the kitchen making sugar cookies, banana bread, mango bread, lemon bars, and the list could go on forever!

I never dreamed that I would ever create a successful baking business, I always thought that it would be a “retirement hobby” because I was always told that was all baking could be, a hobby. I was prepared to live a life of “what if’s” because I felt stuck and as if there was only one path to success. Now, baking serves as so much more than a hobby and more than a business, it has been my lighthouse to bring me back home to myself. It has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities to serve others and truly contribute to the world in the way I want to.

My goals for my business is to not only share the culture and love of baking I was raised with, but to also hopefully inspire others through my journey of entrepreneurship to reclaim their joy by redefining what success is and doing more of what sets their soul on fire.
